I’d like to take a moment to wish all the best to everyone out there in Moncton, New Brunswick, the Maritimes, Canada and everywhere else! As we shovel the white stuff to get out and see friends, family, and other loved ones, enjoy all the best that the season has to offer.

In the new year, we hope to continue to bring you the best, most interesting IT news and events that Moncton and surrounding areas have to offer. On top of that, we plan to make some of that news! So stay tuned!

It’s a White Christmas in Moncton!

We’re in the middle of a nice snow storm here in Moncton! As such, this is a great chance to point out that the City of Moncton has some pretty cool live webcams downtown near City Hall! It’s neat to see the storms, and how downtown looks in the weather, especially if you’re out of town.

Podcamp Halifax 2009

Yes I know, it’s not actually in Moncton, but I’m really excited for the upcoming unconference, Podcamp Halifax 2009! It starts at 9AM on Sunday, January 25th, and registration is free. If you’re like me, and have never been to an unconference, this is the perfect time to experience it!

Upcoming Live Streams

Next week will be very eventful! Specifically, next Tuesday, December 16th.

MonctonITA will be providing live streaming of Third Tuesday NB in Moncton from Studio 7 Hundred. This will be a HUGE event, and if you’re in Moncton, make sure you go there! In case you can’t make it, or aren’t in town, we will be streaming, and recording the event! Go check out all the details for the event on Meetup.com and sign up!

Also, MonctonITA will be across the street from Third Tuesday at the Home Buying Seminar hosted by Martell Home Builders! This seminar will also be live-streamed and recorded! While you may be asking “What does buying a home have to do with IT?”, it is a sharing of information that will help us all, in any industry. If nothing else, sharing of information is what IT is all about! And if it’s happening here in Moncton, all the better!

So, keep an eye out, we’ll be posting the links for the streams as the time approaches! You can watch one, or both live, and be able to check them out online later, all for free!

MonctonITA will be at Third Tuesday NB next Tuesday, December 16! It will be at Studio 7 Hundred at Main St and Botsford in Moncton, NB! MonctonITA will also be streaming the event LIVE via Ustream for those who cannot be in attendance!

What does customer-centricity really mean and how does social media play a part?

Organizations are being forced to reconsider their websites as consumers get increasingly comfortable online, expectations grow for site functionality, content freshness and format, and cost and bandwidth become more attainable. Read more and sign up!

A Quick Moncton ITA Update

Good Day IT People!

Just a quick update, We are still very much alive, though it doesn’t look it outwardly. We have taken a bit of a summer hiatus as we are fulfilling other duties and vacation awesomeness.

We will be ramping up in the month of August with some great new content, podcasts and more leadup to the Third Tuesday planned for September in Moncton!

As always we can be found online here, and in person at any of the Third Tuesday Events, in NB.

Disappointed in Tech5

So we’ve been syndicating Tech5 in association with John C. Dvorak, but as you can see…we are no more! The reason, largely, is that it seems that they were using some really malformed xml along with their syndication push, so whenever they were posting onto our site, it was tossing some ugly stuff in there. Since the change to our new theme, which is trying to be as standards-compliant as possible, well, the bad xml was throwing a wrench into our rendering in Firefox.

And so, here we are! Won’t have quite as much “content”, but let’s face it, as if many of you even listened to it anyway.

New Look and feel!

Ive launched the new look and feel somewhat unofficially. Still a few bugs to work out, but we will work them out as we get to them.

Stay tuned for more features and tweaks as we go to make this site as kick butt as possible.

On June 20th Morgan Stanley released their Tech Trends report for 2008. this 93 Slide presentation contains allot of information from traffic graphs and comparisons on leading traffic sources, detailed comparisons and graphs between old media/conventional media sources and the Internet, Mobile growth and trends, and much much more.
